All of you have knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s). Competencies that help us succeed and grow. One of mine, for instance, is creativity – to come up with new ideas and to connect unrelated items to generate new options. However, I was reminded that my greatest strength, is also my greatest weakness.
When skills are overused, they may become a challenge for oneself and their team. So, the opposite side of the creative coin is the challenge – focusing on the quantity of ideas, rather than the quality; an inability to implement and follow through and wasting time on a marginal idea, rather than the best solution for the project in process.
Whatever your competencies and KSA’s are, remember to flip the coin to identify the humble side of the coin. Knowing both sides is where true leadership resides.
